14th to 17th March, EQUIMUR Horse show, Torre Pacheco
XVIII Salón Nacional de Caballos de Razas Puras-EQUIMUR 2013
Equimur 2013, will bring together 2 of the best races of purebreed horses in the same venue.
The event has recently been given the classification of being an International event.
The XVIII Salón Nacional de Caballos de Razas Puras-EQUIMUR 2013, ( the 18th national pure breeds horse show) will take place at the IFEPA showground in Torre Pacheco, Region of Murcia, between the 14th and 17th March, the exhibitions centre ready to once again become a major shop window for Spanish pure breed horses.
This year, the ANCCE-Asociación Nacional de Criadores de Caballos de Pura Raza Española, ( Association of Spanish pure breed horse breeders) have distinguished the fair as being an International Pure breeds event.
This confirms the event as being the second most important within Spain after the Sicab fair in Seville, and recognises its status and prestige as an international event, part of the recognised circuit of 11 International pure breed horse events.
The show is practically obligatory for industry professionals and those with an interest in the equine world, combining the pure breed show classes with competitions, spectaculars and demonstrations, in which the prestigious breeders and riders present at the show participate. One of the main attractions for participants in Equimur is the Concurso Morfológico de Pura Raza Española, ( the Spanish pure breeds competition) in which the best national and regional breeders participate, along with the III Concurso de Caballos de Pura Raza Hispano Árabe, ( the 3rd pure Spanish-Arab breed competition).
Another of the main competitions is the Concurso Nacional de Doma Vaquera, (carriage driving) the children’s show jumping championships, the children’s games and pony handling competitions, the indoor stock control competition ( lassoing), amongst others.
Running parallel to the competitions Equimur offers an extensive programme of activities for the thousands of equine enthusiasts who attend the show including a series of spectaculars and displays by renowned industry professionals, as well as a programme of conferences and demonstrations relating to all things equine, organised by equestrian associations.
In addition there is also an ample commercial offering with the participation of businesses selling saddlery, equestrian clothing, vehicles, trailers, equine nutrition, footwear, flamenco dresses, equestrian facilities, among others.
There is also a section dedicated to the livestock industry, with the participation of livestock breeders, and stables etc.
This year the event also includes a programme of conferences, including a conference about disabled riding which takes place on Saturday 17th March at 12.30 midday and includes a demonstration at 3.30pm with the participation of the 2011 Spanish disabled champion, the whole event organised by the Murcian Equestrian Therapies association.
The show covers 25,000 square metres, which is the entire floor area of the exhibition centre, as well as the external parking areas.
EQUIMUR is an event which has managed to withstand the economic crisis, and has not only managed to maintain its level of participation, but extend it this year, as well as increasing the prestige and quality of the breeders participating.
The principal objective of the show is to obtain as many sales as possible for the sectors and the breeders present, and due to the high numbers of visitors who attend the event, this has become a major meeting point for sector professionals nationally, as well as being a “not to be missed” occasion for those with an interest in horses.
EQUIMUR will be open between 9am and 9pm continuously on all 4 days, with entry at 7 euros on the door or 5 euros with a discount voucher. This can be printed out from the site by using the print options either at the top of this page or on your own printer. There is also a larger version of the discount voucher on the website www.ifepainenglish.com where details of other forthcoming exhibitions can be found.
