Click HereThe Guardia Civíl of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with the local police of Águilas, has intercepted and detained the driver of a vehicle caught at a police checkpoint on the RM-11 highway (Lorca-Águilas highway), within the Águilas municipality, transporting 153 kilos of hashish.
The detention was made after a checkpoint on the RM-11 highway (highway Lorca-Águilas) was set up to detect the transportation of narcotics by road.
One driver drew attention to himself when he rapidly reversed his vehicle and fled, driving at speed against the flow of the traffic to try and avoid detention.
A pursuit ensued, and the driver abandoned his vehicle, fleeing on foot.
By now, local police were also close to the location and the driver was rapidly detained, putting up such a level of resistance that he will also be charged with offences of disobedience and serious resistance to agents of authority and attacking agents.
153 kilos of hashish was found in his vehicle.
The detainee –a 36 year old male of Moroccan nationality–,has been placed under the charge of theCourt of Instruction number 3 of Lorca (Murcia).
