ARCHIVED ARTICLE
Hospitalisations fell slightly but the number in intensive care increased in spite of the high level of fatalities
In spite of 1,249 new positive PCR diagnoses being given in the last 24 hours, the total of active patients in the Murcia Region fell slightly again on Wednesday as the number of patients given the all-clear exceeded the total of new cases, bringing the number of active cases in the region to 15,790.
All of these individuals are either in home isolation (14,695) or in hospital (1,095).
The 1,249 positives (30 less than on Tuesday) are widely spread around the region, although as normal, the largest number (374) corresponded to Murcia City, 163 to Cartagena, 80 to Yecla, 78 to Lorca, 70 to Cieza, 61 to Molina de Segura, 30 to Caravaca de la Cruz, 30 to Jumilla, 29 to Alcantarilla, 25 to Abarán, 22 to Águilas, 20 to Mula, 17 to Mazarrón, 17 to Las Torres de Cotillas, 16 to Archena, 15 to Torre Pacheco, 14 to Alguazas, 14 to San Pedro del Pinatar, 13 to Beniel, 13 to Ceutí, 11 to Alhama de Murcia , 11 to Bullas, 10 to Fortuna, 10 to Totana, 9 to Santomera, 8 to Albudeite, 7 to Fuente Álamo, 7 to Puerto Lumbreras, 7 to San Javier, 6 to Abanilla, 6 to Blanca, 6 to Moratalla, 5 to Los Alcázares, 5 to Lorquí, and 5 to La Unión, with the remainder in quantities of under 5 cases.
The good news is that the percentage of PCR tests yielding a positive result fell to 11.79%. When adding this figure to the lower number of cases being detected in the last few days (this is the sixth consecutive day of falling new cases), a slight stabilisation can be seen, leading to hopes that the restrictive measures are starting to bring the number of new contagions down.
