Click HereRoad resurfacing and repair work is underway on the old N-332 road that passes through the Euro-Roda urbanisation in a coordinated effort between San Javier Council and Los Alcázares, with a new pedestrian crossing and traffic lights being installed to improve safety for pedestrians.
The new crossing will allow pedestrians to cross from one side of the road to the other at Avenida Cartagena, which is shared by the municipalities of San Javier and Los Alcázares.
The improvement works have a budget of 45,701 euros.
Paving works have affected 4,900 m² of the right lane of the N-332 towards Cartagena, belonging to the municipality of San Javier, while paving and channelling for the installation of the pedestrian crossing with traffic lights has affected the left lane which belongs to the municipality of Los Alcazares.
Mayor of Roda, Eulogio Sánchez, had been campaigning for months for something to be done about the poor state of the road and lack of pedestrian crossings after receiving several complaints from residents. However, with the summer in full swing, final touches may not be added until September.
