The supermarket Spar Rubio, located in calle Conde de Elda of Alhama de Murca, took the decision to temporarily close following a positive Covid test in an employee on Tuesday.
The contagion is not as a direct result of any activity within the establishment, as the contact has come via an infected family member, but the management took the decision to close as a precautionary measure.
All of the existing staff will be PCR tested and the establishment has been “deep cleaned and disinfected” .
New staff have been employed for a temporary period to enable the team working at the time of the contagion to quarantine and the store plans to re-open before the weekend.

Totana to remain in confinement for a further week
On Wednesday morning a meeting of the Covid Monitoring Commission for the Murcia Region reviewed data gathered during the last 3 days and decided that Totana should remain in phase 1 in order to continue limiting the spread of the virus within the municipality.
Totana was confined on 23rd July following a major outbreak related to the Pub Dubai, a popular bar frequented principally by younger members of the Latin-American community.
The number of active cases in Totana has declined significantly from 136 to 82 during the last week as some patients recover from the virus, but the situation is described as "delicate" and with the virus and outbreak still active within the municipality, the decision has been taken to maintain the phase 1 restrictions for a further week.
In the last 24 hours, 16 new cases have been detected, indicating that the virus continues to circulate.
The movement restrictions in and out of the municipality will continue, although residents are permitted to move around within the boundaries of the municipality.
The situation will be reviewed next week when the committee meets again.
