Andalucía weekly weather forecast April 14-17: Showers, strong winds and a midweek chill
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
A changeable week ahead with bursts of sunshine between spells of rain and brisk Poniente winds
After a blustery end to last week, the unsettled spring weather continues across Andalucía with more rain in the forecast and those familiar Poniente winds making themselves known once again. While there will be brighter spells at times, especially midweek, most areas can expect passing showers, cooler temperatures and plenty of cloud cover.
Monday April 14
Andalucía weather forecast, Monday April 14
The week starts with cloudy skies and patchy rain, especially in eastern areas like Granada, Almeria and Jaen. Things should brighten up later in the afternoon, but over on the Atlantic side, cloud cover will build again by evening, bringing fresh showers to places like Huelva and Seville. Winds will start off light from the west but pick up strength as the day goes on, with strong Poniente winds likely along the Mediterranean coast.
Tuesday April 15

Rain is set to return more widely across the region, with scattered showers — some possibly thundery — expected in inland areas like Cordoba and Jaen. The Mediterranean coast, including Nerja and Almeria, may dodge the worst of it. Temperatures will drop noticeably, especially in the east, so it’ll feel quite cool for mid-April. Westerly winds remain moderate overall, but gusts of strong Poniente will hammer the coast later in the day, particularly around Almeria and eastern Granada.
Wednesday April 16

A bit of a breather in the rain, though not entirely dry. Cloudy spells continue, with a chance of afternoon showers, particularly in higher areas. Minimum temperatures will take a dip, and there could even be frost in elevated spots. Daytime highs, however, should stay steady or creep up slightly in sunnier spots like Malaga and Cadiz. Westerly winds will remain moderate, with another burst of strong Poniente along the Mediterranean coast.

A brighter end to the week, with only a few light showers expected in Atlantic-facing areas such as Huelva and Seville. Skies will be partly cloudy elsewhere, and temperatures are on the rise again — a welcome change. Westerly winds will ease slightly, staying light inland and moderate along the coast.
This week brings a varied forecast, with a blend of showers, cloud, sunshine and gusty winds — especially near the coast. It won’t be wall-to-wall sunshine, but there’ll be some brighter spells to enjoy between the unsettled patches. A typical spring week, really — best to be ready for a bit of everything.
