The incidence rate has plummeted in the Region while only 14 patients are in intensive care
With coronavirus indicators in the Region of Murcia falling steadily once more, the regional health authorities have announced that from Wednesday June 1, the vaccination point located in the Myrtea shopping centre in Murcia and close and anyone wanting to avail themselves of the jab can do so at the Municipal Health Services vaccine station located in the Salitre garden.
In this new centre, both vaccination for adults (from 12 years old) and children (from 5 to 11 years old) will be offered daily between 8.30am and 2.30pm.
Coronavirus infections
The Region of Murcia registered a total of 1,679 new cases of coronavirus in the last four days, 326 of them on Monday May 30, which is a reduction of 130 infections compared to the same day last week.
This brings the total number of Covid cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 429,256.
Cumulative incidence rate
The 14-day incidence rate in adults over the age of 60 has plummeted in just a week, dropping from 1,051.35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants to just 711.78.
Moreover, the 7-day figure is significantly less than 50% (289.28 cases), which is a good indication that the number of infections will continue to decrease in the coming days.
Hospitalisations and fatalities
There are currently 221 people admitted to hospitals in Murcia for coronavirus, 46 fewer than in the last report released by the regional health authorities on May 26. Of these, 14 are being treated for more serious illnesses in the ICUs, a reduction of one.
In the last four days, an additional 15 Covid-related deaths have been reported, which brings the overall death toll since the start of the health crisis to 2,311.
Covid testing
The number of PCR and antigen diagnostic tests carried out in the Region has risen to 2,961,114.
Vaccination data
Since the last update, 91.93% of the entire population of the Murcia Region has had a least one dose. In addition, 84.67% of people are now double jabbed.
