Latino rhythms and the regional Symphony Orchestra at the Murcia auditorium

The Cuban singer and actress Lucrecia presents “Viaja con Lucrecia”, telling the story of her life to Latino rhythms and the accompaniment of the OSRM in the third event of the 2019-20 family concert cycle at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia.

Born in Havana in 1967, Lucrecia is a familiar face to youngsters in Spain as a daily presenter on the “Clan” TV channel, having made her first steps as a professional musician with mentors including Celia Cruz, Paquito D'Rivera, Chano Domínguez, Patato Valdés and others. She won a Latino Grammy in 2011 and has also published various children’s stories, as well as being a respected pianist and songwriter.

She is also a superb performer live with a fabulous voice.

All of the events in this cycle are aimed at youngsters who are just discovering the sounds of orchestras and some of the best-known works and composers and are shorter than those programmed for adult audiences. All contain elements of fun, laughter and audience participation, and of course there is no rule against parents and other adults enjoying them as well and making them a Sunday lunchtime treat for all the family!

For each Sunday event a pre-concert activity begins at 11.15, when the performers explain to young concertgoers (and their grown-up companions) a little about their day-to-day lives and the music which will be performed.

The performances at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia begin at 18.00 on 21st December abd 12.00 on 22^nd December with tickets priced at 10 euros, although season tickets for all six events in the cycle can also be purchased for 42 euros: click for further information.

Those attending the concert are invited to bring along a new toy, or one in good condition, to be donated to children in need in the Region of Murcia over Christmas.
