ARCHIVED ARTICLE Active cases now exceed 8,500
The health service of the Region of Murcia has detected 393 new cases of coronavirus in the region during the last 24 hours, 51 less than on Thursday 8th when 444 new cases were reported.
This brings the total of active cases in the region up to 8,584 and the total number of cases detected in the region since the pandemic began to 24,450.
96 correspond to the municipality of Murcia, 33 to Cartagena, 28 to Lorca, 28 to Molina de Segura, 17 to Cieza, 16 to Torre Pacheco, 15 to Jumilla, 14 to Totana, 12 to Fortuna, 10 to Abanilla, 10 to Alcantarilla, 9 to Caravaca de la Cruz, 8 to Archena, 8 to Fuente Álamo, 8 to Mazarrón, 7 to Alhama de Murcia, 7 to Cehegín, 6 to Bullas, 6 to San Javier, 6 to Las Torres de Cotillas, and 6 to Yecla . The rest are distributed amongst various municipalities, in smaller quantities.

Fatalities:
Three deaths from coronavirus have been reported in the region on Friday; two males and one female, from Lorca, Murcia and Beniel, aged 62, 64 and 69 respectively, bringing the total fatalities count up to 229.
PCR and IA
During the last 24 hours, the regional health service has undertaken 3,868 PCR tests, detecting 393 cases. This gives a detection rate of 10.16%, which is lower than the last few days. To date the health service has undertaken 275,780 PCR tests and 70,155 antibody tests.
The IA rate is now 197 per 100,000 head of population, having fallen one point from yesterday. 12 of the 45 municiplities exceed the average rate for the region; Totana with 840; Fortuna 712; Abanilla 636; Lorca 514; Jumilla 378; Archena 326; Aledo 293; Fuente Álamo 277; Santomera 253; Alguazas 2017; Molina de Segura 205; Puerto Lumbreras 201.
Hospitalisations:
At this moment there are 8,584 active cases diagnosed in the region, of which 8,216 are in domestic isolation, leaving 368 hospitalisations, (four less than yesterday) and 66 patients in intensive care, three less than yesterday.
Recoveries:
379 patients have been given the all-clear in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries up to 13,931.
