National, regional and local holidays in all 45 municipalities of the Region of Murcia
Although the official list of public holidays seldom contains any surprises, it always arouses great interest as people scan the calendar for long weekends, also known as ‘puentes’ (bridges), which are eagerly awaited throughout the year.
The full list of ‘red day’ holidays for 2022 in Region of Murcia is as follows:
Saturday January 1: New Year’s Day
Thursday January 6: Epiphany of the Lord
Thursday April 14: Holy Thursday
Friday April 15: Good Friday
Monday May 2: carried over from Sunday May 1, Day of the Workers.
Thursday June 9: Day of the Region of Murcia
Monday August 15: Assumption of the Virgin
Wednesday October 12: National Spanish Fiesta
Tuesday November 1: Day of All Saints
Tuesday December 6: Spanish Constitution Day
Thursday December 8: Immaculate Conception
Monday December 26: Boxing Day
In addition to these 12 holidays, each municipality also chooses two public holidays, bringing the total up to 14 bank holidays per year. Although some of the local councils have not officially submitted their elected dates this year, the provisional list for each municipality is:
