ARCHIVED - Bars and restaurants closed down in every municipality except Aledo and Librilla
ARCHIVED ARTICLE
Only the terraces of premises in these two municipalities may open to 75% capacity
From midnight on Tuesday onwards, the bars and restaurants in every municipality of the Region of Murcia must remain shut completely, apart from in the two tiny municipalities of Aledo and Librilla in which hostelries will be allowed to serve refreshments on their outdoor terraces only, to a maximum of 75% occupancy. Only a take-away service is permitted, although most bars are not offering this as it is not commercially viable.
Residents in the other 43 municipalities are also confined to their home municipality and may not enter another municipality other than for essential reasons, or going to work.
In addition, all businesses considered non-essential, must close by 20:00 (8pm) in the evening.Only services such as supermarkets, pharmacies, gas stations, veterinary centers, food delivery services, soup kitchens and wholesale trade suppliers will be permitted to continue trading. Businesses which offer a delivery service will be permitted to prepare deliveries behind locked doors.
The 43 municipalities which are now confined are:
Moratalla, Fortuna, Yecla, Albudeite, Caravaca de la Cruz, Mula, Abanilla, Jumilla, Lorquí, Alguazas, La Unión, Ricote, Las Torres de Cotillas, Santomera, Murcia, Villanueva del Río Segura, Molina de Segura, Cartagena, Pliego, Ulea, Bullas, San Pedro del Pinatar, Cieza, Abarán, Ceutí, Blanca, Lorca, Torre Pacheco, Alcantarilla, San Javier, Cehegín, Fuente Álamo, Campos del Río, Archena, Águilas, Los Alcázares, Beniel, Calasparra, Alhama de Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras, Mazarrón, Totana and Ojós.
Residents are also not permitted to interact with other residents outside of their immediate domestic bubble, so are not permitted to meet friends for a chat, go for a walk, cannot enter the home of another person or meet other people for social reasons.
The practise of sport is permitted providing masks are worn, but even this is causing irritated commentary on social media as there are many incidences of the public crossing into other municipalities during sporting activities, which is not permitted. (ie you may cycle with a friend providing both wear masks, maintain social distancing and remain in your home municipality).
Shops must maintain 50% maximum capacity.
Parks and gardens must close by 19:00.
Cinemas, theatres, libraries etc are permitted to open, but with a maximum capacity of 50%.
However, many municipalities have closed all sporting installations, libraries, theatres, museums and municipal buildings for the moment.
The regional perimeter border remains closed.
This latest restriction is in force for the next 7 days and will be reviewed next Monday again.
