La Cangreja, located on Galúa beach in La Manga, is among the 25 beach bars selected by Forbes magazine
One of the most popular summer destinations is the beach. Enjoying a swim, the sand and the sun is one of the most best bits of summer for many, and what would a day out at the beach be without a quick tipple at the beach bar?
Beach bars, or ‘Chiringuitos’, right on the sand are common on the Spanish coast, and having a pre-lunch aperitif by the sea or an après-swim after a long and tiring day at the beach is practically part of Spanish culture.
Forbes magazines has released a list of the 25 best beach bars in Spain, and one of them is in the Region of Murcia.
Chiringuito La Cangreja
Chiringuito La Cangreja, located on the beach of Galúa, in La Manga de Mar Menor (Cartagena), was chosen by Forbes to grace its list of the top chiringuitos in the country.
This chiringuito was already on the Forbes list in both 2020 and 2021, and now it has been recognised for the third year running.
Open since 2014, La Cangreja has been serving snacks, lunch, dinner and drinks to satisfied customers every summer, and specialised in baos, tacos, quesadillas, hamburgers and traditional Spanish rice dishes.
The restaurant itself says that La Cangreja is “white sand, crystalline waters, music, gastronomy, sun, team, happiness...”.
In fact, they even have their self-styled ‘Tardes Cangreja’ on the weekends to add a musical touch to an evening on the shores of the Mar Menor – one of the few chiringuitos that is lucky enough to be able to host music concerts legally.
