The total number of Covid positives in Spain has increased by 53,232 this week
The Spanish Ministry of Health has reported 3,829 new diagnoses of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, a slight increase compared to 3,781 yesterday.
The overall total has increased by 9,779 positives, bringing the overall total to 439,286.
The overall total of cases in Spain rose from 429,507 on Thursday evening to 439,286, as cases reported by the autonomous communities earlier in the week were verified and added into the overall total of cases diagnosed by PCR swab testing.
Of the 3,829 new positives, 401 relate to Andalusia, 185 are in Aragon, 36 in Asturias, 267 in the Canary Islands, 92 in Cantabria, 86 in Castilla-La Mancha, 81 in Castilla y León, 141 in Catalonia, three in Ceuta, 128 in the Valencian Community, 51 in Extremadura, 191 in Galicia, 1,153 in Madrid, seven in Melilla, 39 in Murcia, 167 in Navarra, 730 in the Basque Country and 71 in La Rioja.
Since the start of the pandemic, 29,011 people have died with coronavirus
In the last seven days, 129 people with a confirmed positive diagnostic test for COVID-19 have died. Since the start of the pandemic, 29,011 people have died with coronavirus, according to official statistics from the Ministry of Health.
These 129 latest deaths are recorded as follows: 16 in Andalusia, one in Asturias, five in the Balearic Islands, five in the Canary Islands, three in Castilla-La Mancha, ten in Castilla y León, four in Catalonia, eleven in the Valencian Community, two in Extremadura, seven in Galicia, 53 in Madrid, three in Murcia, one in Navarra, six in the Basque Country and two in La Rioja.
There have been 1,693 hospital admissions in the last week: 254 in Andalusia, 70 in Aragon, eight in Asturias, 43 in the Balearic Islands, 116 in the Canary Islands, 32 in Cantabria, 24 in Castilla -La Mancha, 136 in Castilla y León, 76 in Catalonia, one in Ceuta, 151 in the Valencian Community, 21 in Extremadura, 96 in Galicia, 503 in Madrid, four in Melilla, 91 in Murcia, 44 in Navarra, seven in the Country Vasco and 16 in La Rioja.
Included within these there have been 129 admissions to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the last week : 18 in Andalusia, 13 in the Balearic Islands, 21 in the Canary Islands, two in Cantabria, four in Castilla-La Mancha, nine in Castilla y León, four in Catalonia, 15 in the Valencian Community, four in Extremadura, eight in Galicia, twelve in Madrid, one in Melilla, nine in Murcia, four in Navarra, one in the Basque Country and four in La Rioja .
