Running, BTT, moto cross, tennis and more as events and competitions coincide with the Feria de Alhama in early October

Saturday September 24

ARCHIVED - Early autumn sporting events in Alhama de Murcia 10.00: 24-hour 5-a-side football marathon at the Adolfo Suárez and Sierra Espuña sports pavilions: registration at the indoor swimming pool.

Sunday October 2

8.30: Guided hike over both short and large distances starting in the Rambla don Diego at the old fairground. Further information and registration at the Alhama Club de Orientación y Montaña.

Monday October 3

20.00: Presentation of the teams of Alhama Fútbol Sala Primafrio and the first friendly charity game to raise funds for the Princesa Rett association. The match is between the local Senior team and El Pozo Murcia of the national Futsal 5-a-side first division at the Pabellón Municipal Adolfo Suárez.

Sunday October 9

9.30: Scuba diving initiation, 4th open day at the municipal indoor pool.

Saturday October 15

6.30: The 32nd annual “Bajada del Moral” (a 100-kilometre ride in Sierra Espuña on mountain bikes). Departs from Calle Rambla don Diego (the old fairground. Further information from Club Ciclista Sierra Espuña.

Sunday October 16

ARCHIVED - Early autumn sporting events in Alhama de Murcia 8.00: 5th annual Alhama Trail mountain running race, starting in the Plaza de la Constitución. Further information from Alhama Club de Orientación y Montaña.

Friday October 21

18.00: 14th annual Feria de Alhama Urban Mile race, starting and finishing in the Plaza de La Constitución. Registration on www.famu.es; youngsters from Alhama can register at their schools.

Saturday October 22

10.00: The Feria 2022 tennis tournament begins at the Polideportivo El Praíco, ending the following day. Further information from Club Raqueta Alhama.

Sunday October 23

ARCHIVED - Early autumn sporting events in Alhama de Murcia 9.30: Fun cycle ride starting and finishing in the Plaza de la Constitución. Helmets must be worn and children must be accompanied by adults, further information from Club Ciclista Sierra Espuña.

10.00: 34th annual Feria Moto Cross event in the de La Feria 2022. Campeonato Regional de Motocross, MX1, MX2, MX65, MX Máster and MX Aficionados categories, taking place at the Circuito Las Salinas. Further information from Moto Club Alhama.

Sunday October 30

9.30: Petanca competition in the Jardín de la Carrasca. Organiza. Club Petanca La Carrasca.

Saturday November 5

9.00: Feria 2022 Judo championship and martial arts demonstration in the Pabellón Municipal Adolfo Suárez. Further information from Club de Judo Alhama.

Saturday November 26

18.00: 33rd annual night mountain run, organized by the Agrupación Deportiva Leiva.The event will be presented the day before in the Casa de Cultura and prizes are awarded on Sunday October 27 at 12.30 in the same venue.

Alhama de Murcia Tourist Office

Alhama de Murcia Tourist information office is located on the edge of the Plaza de la Constitución, just a few metres away from the underground car park and the Town hall of Alhama de Murcia.

The tourist office offers free guided audiotours in English which take visitors around the historical sites of interest in Alhama. These be loaned at any time, although allow an hour and a half to complete the tour, and when loaning the audio equipment visitors are asked to leave passports or ID cards with the tourist office.

The office also carries a full range of leaflets for the archaeological museum of Los Baños, which is built around the historic spa which gives Alhama its name, and the mountains of Sierra Espuña, which is also an important area within the municipality of Alhama. Areas such as El Berro and Gebas have a number of interesting routes which can be followed and there are several picnic areas and good walking routes within the Sierra Espuña natural park.

The tourist office also carries leaflets for the many cultural events and fiestas which take place in Alhama throughout the year, including Los Mayos, Semana Santa, Christmas,the Romería of La Candelaria and the Auto de los Reyes Magos in El Berro.
