El Valle vision to be the BEST golf resort in Spain
From ‘ghost town’ to family golfing paradise, here’s how El Valle in Murcia is being reborn and why now is the right time to buy
El Valle Golf Resort was once the jewel in Murcia’s crown, with 369 villas and 319 apartments built around a world-class golf course that staged the 2011 European Senior Tour Open. It also boasts a clubhouse, restaurant and supermarket. Properties in El Valle resort were almost fully sold out off-plan back in the glory days of 2005 when the resort was first built, but then the financial crisis hit Spain in 2008.
Polaris World Resort developments were forced to relinquish their assets to debt relief banks, construction stalled on the town centre which was promised for the resort, and sales fizzled out in El Valle.
Now they’re back, and there are some real bargains to be had.

Whereas before off-plan villas were originally being sold at a value of over half a million euros for the smallest type of villa called an ‘Alcor’, and the larger villas called ‘Algabas’ and ‘Adargas’ had prices ranging from 800,000 to 1.7 million euros, now property prices are much more affordable on the El Valle Golf Resort.
Alcor villas in El Valle now cost just 300,000 euros, and the larger, more luxurious villas have a very accessible price of around 600,000 euros. Apartments, too, have dropped in price – homes that used to cost a quarter of a million euros 15 years ago can now be snapped up for just 100,000 euros.
El Valle Golf Resort aims to be the best in Spain

El Valle is pushing to be rebuild, renew and review El Valle to make it the best golf resort in Spain. El Valle would like to return to the original Polaris vision of a fully serviced Resort with Golf Course and Clubhouse being run by the community, for the benefit of the community, as opposed to individual assets being run by private companies whose only interest is in maximising profit.
With this in mind, El Valle has:
- developed an app in conjunction with Selected Group (www.selected.org), allowing residents to easily report all daily matters arising on the resort just by uploading a photo, plus offer discounts at multiple outlets on the resort, and much more;
- established regular online communication sessions to allow their Overseas Owners to keep up to date more easily with resort developments and share their input;
- set up an energetic parents’ group to bring activities to the resort for children to enjoy;
- vowed to constantly attempt to find new ways to allow property owners to have a say about how El Valle and its assets are run, to benefit the overall community.
El Valle has gone from generally being described as a ‘ghost town’ only a few short years ago to a vibrant community with many young families choosing to relocate and enjoy the peace and tranquility offered in a beautiful and ever-improving setting.
What next for El Valle resort?
El Valle is working tirelessly to look at every opportunity to move the golf resort forward and make it the premier resort in Spain.
This is being done by getting input and assistance from owners, to make sure it is a collaborative process run by and for the people who live there. Many owners pull together to share the significant workload involved in making this vision come true.
As part of the demands by the owners, El Valle will continue to seek every opportunity to become more ecofriendly. They’re already way ahead of many other golf courses in Spain when it comes to environmental awareness. Water consumption on the El Valle golf course has reduced from a cost of 139,000 euros in 2017 to approximately 80,000 euros in 2021, while options for the use of alternative clean fuels is currently under review.
