ARCHIVED - Every Saturday and Sunday cultural tours of Roman Cartagena
ARCHIVED ARTICLE The most visited museum in the region offers virtual reality tours and is part of the weekly family tours programme
The Roman Theatre Museum in Cartagena is just one of the venues visited as part of the weekend cultural tours which explore the Roman heritage of Cartagena. These are both in Spanish, although there are ample information boards at each of the venues in English and all of the attractions mentioned can be visited independently throughout the week with an English language audioguide.
January and February opening hours at the Roman Theatre Museum:
Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00
Sunday 10:00 to 14:00
Virtual reality tours of the Roman Theatre Museum
Virtual reality-enhanced tours are offered every Saturday and Sunday at 11:00 during January and February 2020, allowing visitors to see the building as it was in its heyday 2,000 years ago and enjoy a virtual “fly-through”. The first part of the tour which visits the museum is in Spanish, but all of the display boards in the museum are in dual languages. The second part of the tour which includes the virtual goggles is inside the theatre itself, and the goggles offer commentary in English or Spanish. It really is quite an experience to see the theatre how it would have appeared when in use and was a visit thoroughly enjoyed by the Ed.
