ARCHIVED - Guided walks, rafting, train tours and other activities in Cieza for La Floración 2020
Ways of exploring La Floración in Cieza from mid-February to late March
Activities begin from 22nd February and last until 22nd March 2020
The different tours offered commercially by licensed and fully legal tourism and sporting tourism companies in Cieza
There are a number of packages available for those visiting Cieza this spring during La Floración, the period when the fruit orchards around the municipality are a riot of colour as the trees break into blossom. Some of these include transport while for others you’ll need your own vehicle, and there are also options for those who would like to combine their visit with cycling, river rafting down the River Segura, a tourist train trip through the orchards, or even take a bird’s eye view.
Some of these packages include a “farmer’s breakfast”, which is a hearty bread/cheese/meats/conserves and drink affair, usually enjoyed out in amongst the blossom on a trestle table, and lunches can also be booked in advance at a number of restaurants in the municipality, most of which offer special Floración-related menus. It is essential to book for the weekends, as the municipality is very busy, and although not all of the restaurants offer the same set menu during the week, most will have a menu on offer, or will prepare a special set meal for groups by prior arrangement.
The packages listed below are mainly available at weekends but many can also be undertaken during the week, although minimum group sizes are required to make it viable for the company to book a guide and arrange catering. If you want to go during the week and would like to book one of the companies below, simply ring and ask if they can accommodate you as they may already have a group visit arranged or be willing to run a tour for you. Just call them and ask, all of them have provided English speaking contacts or guides.
Each of the events is organised by a privately run company, so all activities should be booked directly via the company shown.
La Floración generally lasts until the end of March, although the best blossom shows are generally in the first two weeks of the month. If the warm weather persists during February the best of the flowering will be over by the middle of the month, although the area is still attractive at the end of the season. This year the peak weeks are from February 22nd to March 22nd.
