The hospital is located on the main avenue running through Cartagena, the Paseo Alfonso XIII, on the right if you approach the city from the Mar Menor area in the east. There is a large hospital car park, but you may find yourself looking for spaces in the surrounding streets or in the Carrefour supermarket next door. There is also parking in the streets behind the hospital.
The A&E emergencies department (“Urgencias”) is by the main hospital entrance on the right.
The area served by this facility is Health Area Nº 2 of the Region of Murcia, which includes the municipalities of Cartagena, Fuente Álamo, La Unión and Mazarrón.
The hospital has almost 300 beds and offers a full range of services.
Visiting hours vary depending on the ward or hospital department, but are fairly flexible, In general it is requested that family and friends restrict their visits to the afternoons, since the doctors do their rounds in the mornings.
At the entrance to the hospital is a large reception for visitors and there is a cafeteria in the right hand wing entering the hospital car park.
The nearby Santa Lucia Hospital also has a full emergency service,
