The cumulative incidence rate of Covid-19 in the region has risen for the first time in almost two months
According to data provided by the Regional Ministry of Health in Andalusia, the autonomous community has recorded 1,596,407 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic – 1,067 more than the last report – and has reached 15,056 deaths – 17 more.
New infections
As of Tuesday 30 August, Andalusia has registered a total of 1,067 new cases of coronavirus since the previous Friday, August 26. Of these, 642 were in people over 60 years old, bringing the total number of infections in Andalusia since the start of the pandemic to 1,596,407.
Hospitalisations
Andalusia continues to reduce the number of hospitalised patients, a continuation of a steady decline since the end of July. Specifically, there were twelve fewer hospitalisations than at the last count, standing at 255, while the number of admissions to the ICU remained stable at eleven.
By provinces, Malaga recorded 47 hospitalised patients, of which two are in ICU, followed by Seville, with 58 hospitalised patients and one in ICU; Cadiz, with 36 and two in ICU; Jaen, with 26 hospitalised patients, of which three are in ICU; Granada with 26 and one in ICU; Almeria, with 22 and none in ICU; Córdoba, with 23 and two in ICU; and Huelva, with 17, none in ICU.
Cumulative incidence rate
With regard to the current average incidence of infection in Andalusia in the last 14 days in people over 60 years of age, this Tuesday the downward trend that began on July 8 has been broken and has risen again to 117.81 points per 100,000 inhabitants, 9.38 points more than four days ago.
Deaths
The number of deaths has risen by 17, to 15,056.
Vaccinations
In terms of vaccines, Andalusia has administered a total of 18,713,463 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, and a total of 7,464,758 people in the region have had their full vaccination schedule (two doses from Pfizer, Moderna or Astrazeneca, or one from Janssen).
The number of people who have at least one dose is 7,619,045, which means there are still 154,287 people who haven’t been fully vaccinated. In addition, a total of 4,481,132 people have their booster jab.
With these figures, the region has 88% of the population with the full vaccination schedule, 95.4% of those over 12 and 92% of those over five, while 89.9% of the population, 96.6% of those over 12 and 93.9% of those over five have received at least the first dose.
