ARCHIVED - Paramount Executives investigate the region
Paramount Executives research the Region in person.
2010-11-12
Executives from Paramount Licensing and Marta Consulting have spent today researching the Region in which they are planning to build the newest and most innovative them park in Spain.
Accompanied by various officials from the regional tourist board, Michael Bartok, Paramount Vice President and Francisco Espinosa, lawyer with Marta Consulting, carried out a whistlestop tour of the south of the region, visiting several locations, including the Real Murcia Football ground in Murcia, Cartagena and La Manga del Mar Menor before spending time in La Union, at the Parque Minero mining museum.
Theyd specifically asked to visit the Parque Minero, which is the newest and most exciting visitor attraction to open in the region, and were particularly interested to discuss visitor figures, plans for future amplification, the distance of the Park from Cartagena, and the proximity of the Mediterranean only two kilometers away in Portman.
Fortunately for Michael Bartok, the Mayor of La Union is one of the few public figures in the Region who are able to converse on an equal footing with the visitors, the Mayor, Francisco Bernabe, speaking excellent English, and during the meeting they were able to discuss various themes relating to the development plans within the municipality.
Its interesting to see the executives themselves doing so much on the ground work, and looking so carefully at the region as a whole, and whilst Bartok is due to return to the states today, other members of his party will be staying in the region for a few more days to carry out further investigations.
Although Alhama has been selected as being the ideal location, there is still no agreement about the actual lands themselves, and it was revealed yesterday that whilst the holdings of the IRM Group are a viable option, other terrain within the municipality is still under consideration, including property still owned by Polaris World., so the firm location of the park itself was by no means settled.
At the end of the visit Francisco Espinosa of Marta Consulting, who are specialists in leisure developments and promotion and are acting as the liaison between Santa Monica Capital and Paramount Licensing, congratulated the Mayor of La Union on all the hard work being done to both create and promote the Parque Minero, which he was sure would be a great success, and announced that representatives from Paramount would be visiting the region again in a few weeks time to continue work on the project, which "wanted to convert the region into the most important tourism centre in Europe."
