Plaza de la Balsa Vieja in Totana

The centric plaza in the town centre of Totana
The Plaza de la Balsa Vieja in central Totana is very much the centric plaza in the town centre and is the focal point for many of the activities which take place in the town.
The current format was inaugurated in 2010 and is the work of architect Enrique Mínguez Martínez, covering an area of 2,795 m2.
The plaza is opposite the main parroquial church, the Parroquia de Santiago which in turn, is alongside the Ayuntamiento, or town hall as well as two of the most important monuments in the town centre, the Fuente Juan de Uzeta fountain and the Casa de las Contribuciones.
The plaza is a large, open area, accessed by ramps and steps from street level, surrounded by shops and bars, amongst which are the Tourist Information Office, as well as the municipal exhibitions sala.

This is a popular place in which to socialise and the plaza contains public seating as well as open-air bars.
There is underground parking beneath the plaza. Accessed by turning right alongside the rambla and then immediately right again. There is also parking alongside the rambla on both sides.
