ARCHIVED - Region of Murcia Covid restrictions May 4 to May 9
There are now no municipalities confined in the Murcia region
These restrictions take effect from midnight on Tuesday May 4 and remain in place until midnight on Sunday May 9.
The level of new Covid cases in the Murcia region continues at around the same level as last week, and there are now just 671 active cases in the whole of the region (at the peak of the third wave this figure was 15,000). During the last week there were three deaths and there are currently 76 patients left in the region's hospitals, with 22 in intensive care units.
Every municipality excpet Ulea is below the level of 250 cases per 100,000 of population and as the outbreak in this tiny municipality relates to one family unit, which is now believed to be under control with all members isolated, no municipalities will be confined this week and residents are free to move anywhere in the region as long as they remain inside the Murcia regional border.
All other restrictions remain the same as last week:
The curfew time now runs from midnight until 6am, giving bars and restaurants a full extra hour of service in the evenings.
The number of people permitted to meet on outside terraces of bars remains at 6, and a maximum of four people are permitted to meet in private residences and inside bars but service at the bar continues to be prohibited.Clients must remain seated both inside and on the terraces of restaurants and bars in order to ensure that maximum capacity levels are respected and masks must be worn at all times other than when actually eating or drinking.
Bars are permitted to open up their external terraces and gardens to 100% of capacity, but must continue to maintain the maximum capacity inside at 30 per cent.
In addition, the regional government has increased the number of people permitted to attend weddings, communions and baptisms to 100 people in exterior areas or 30 people inside a building (formerly the maximum was 30 anywhere), a measure which will help the hostelry sector to resume the larger-scale meals and family gatherings which are such a core part of Spanish society.
The regional external perimeter border remains closed for the moment.
