Season tickets for 2019-20 concert cycles at the Murcia Auditorium now on sale
24 concerts and dance performances at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia with discounts of up to 40 per cent
The programmes for the main concert cycles during the 2019-20 season at the Víctor Villegas auditorium in the city of Murcia have been made public and season tickets can be reserved, obtaining discounts of between 25 and 40 per cent on tickets in comparison to individual event prices.
Until 22nd July these season tickets are available only to those who held them during the 2018-19 season, and newcomers to the Auditorio Víctor Villegas will be able to apply from 24th July onwards.
Individual event tickets go on sale on 30th July.
Season tickets can be obtained only at the box office of the auditorium (telephone 968 343080), which is closed in August, while individual event tickets can also be purchased online throughout the summer.
The 25th anniversary season of the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in the city of Murcia features three main concert and dance cycles with the highlights including pianist Grigori Sokolov, countertenor Philippe Jaroussky, a performance of Verdi’s Requiem by the Regio of Murcia Symphony Orchestra, the first ever performance of Stabat Mater by the Murcia composer Moreno-Buendía and dance performance by the Víctor Ullate Ballet and the Malandain Ballet from Biarritz.
Other prestigious performers include symphony and radio orchestras from Frankfurt, Turin and Norway performing under the baton of conductors such as James Conlon, violin soloists such as Michael Barenboim and Lina Tur.
The full programs for the three main cycles are as follows:
2019-2020 Grand Concert cycle at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia
11th December: the Berlin Philharmonic quintet, featuring clarinettist Miquel Ángel Tamarit, perform works by Mozart, Lanner, Weber, Tartini, Tchaikovsky and Sarsate. Tickets 25 to 35 euros.
27th January: the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and violinist Fumiaki Miura, conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, perform Mussorgski’s Night on Bald Mountain, Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto and Don Juan and The Knight of the Rose by Strauss. Tickets 25 to 35 euros.
22nd February: pianist Grigori Sokolov performs at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas, with the programme yet to be confirmed. Tickets 25 to 35 euros.
13th March: the Turin Radio Orchestra and violinist Michael Barenboim, conducted by James Conlon, perform Mozart’s 1st violin concerto and La Clemenza di Tito (overture), as well as Mahler’s 1st symphony. Tickets 25 to 35 euros.
25th April: The Norwegian Radio Orchestra and violinist Ilya Gringolts, conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya, present Grieg’s Autumn overture, Paganini’s 1st violin concerto and Dvorak’s 7th symphony. Tickets 25 to 35 euros.
23rd May: Philippe Jaroussky and the Artaserse Ensemble perform a selection of baroque treasures including arias by Vivaldi, Porpora, Händel and Caldara. Tickets 30 to 45 euros.
There are six concerts in the "Grandes Conciertos" cycle and those taking out “abonos” or season tickets are eligible for a discount of 30 per cent, making season ticket prices 101.50, 121.10 and 143.50 euros.

2019-2020 Dance Cycle at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia
28th September: the Víctor Ullate Ballet perform “Antígona). Tickets 25 to 45 euros.
24th October: Dancers Amador Rojas and Miranda Alfonso are accompanied by flamenco musicians Luis El Granaíno and Miguel de la Tolea (singers), Eduardo Cortés (guitar), Samuel García “El Tarraco” (violín) and Paco de “Mode” (percussion) to perform “Poseidón”. Tickets 18 to 24 euros.
26th November: The Igor Moiseiev Ballet perform “Danzas de los Pueblos del Mundo”, a spectacle with various dances from different cultures around the world. Tickets 18 to 24 euros.
28th December: The Compañía Nacional de Danza perform The Nutcracker. Tickets 25 to 45 euros.
7th January: The Saint Petersburg Ballet perform Sleeping Beauty. Tickets 18 to 27 euros.
7th March: The Carmen y Matilde Rubio company offer a special performance to commemorate their 35th anniversary. Tickets 15 to 35 euros.
16th May: The Malandain Biarritz Ballet perform “María Antonieta”. Tickets 25 to 45 euros.
There are 7 performances in the "Danza" cycle and a 30% discount is applied for the purchase of tickets for all seven, making the season ticket prices for these events 100.80, 137.90 or 177.10 euros.

2019-2020 Region of Murcia Symphony Orchestra Cycle at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia
13th September: Opening concert for the 2019-202 cycle as The Region of Murcia Symphony Orchestra (OSRM) are joined by the Coral Crevillentina choir for a semi-dramatized performance of Doña Francisquita by Vives. Free for renewed season ticket holders, 10 euros for others.
29th September: The Camera Musicae Symphony Orchestra and pianist Judith Jáuregui, conducted by Tomás Grau, perform Schumann’s concerto for piano and orchestra and Tchaikovsky’s 6th symphony. Tickets 10 to 24 euros.
25th October: The OSRM, under the baton of resident conductor Virginia Martínez, are joined by percussionist Miguel Ángel Alemán in a performance of Dorman’s “Frozen in Time”, María Rodrigo’s “La copla intrusa” and the Sinfonía Sevillana by Turina. Tickets 9 to 15 euros.
30th November: Cellist Asier Polo joins the OSRM under the baton of George Pehlivanian to perform Elgar’s cello concerto and two works by Benjamin Britten, Canadian Carnival (overture) and the four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes. Tickets 11 to 18 euros.
13th December: Violinist Lina Tur returns to Murcia to perform with the OSRM conducted by Nuno Coelho, the programme featuring Music of Mourning by Lutoslawski, Bartok’s 1st violin concerto and Beethoven’s 8th symphony. Tickets 9 to 15 euros.
18th January: The OSRM are joined by flautist Juan Antonio Nicolás, harpist José Antonio Domené and conductor Georg Mark for a performance of Beethoven’s Leonora 3 overture, Mozart’s concerto for flute and harp and Schumann’s 1st symphony. Tickets 9 to 15 euros.
7th February: The Coral Orpheus choir, celebrating their 10th anniversary, join the OSRM under the baton of resident conductor Virginia Martínez to perform Verdís Requiem. Soloists to be announced. Tickets 12 to 20 euros.
10th March: Virginia Martínez conducts again as violinist Kristika Sukler performs with the OSRM, the programme including Adams’ concerto for electric violin “The Dharma at Big Sur” and two pieces by Respighi, Pinos de Roma and Fuentes de Roma. Tickets 12 to 20 euros.
3rd April: The OSRM welcome the Coral de Bilbao choir, including mezzosoprano María José Montiel and baritone Damián del Castillo, for the worldwide premiere of Stabat Mater by Manuel Moreno-Buendía. Conductor Manuel Hernández-Silva. Tickets 12 to 20 euros.
9th May: Under the baton of resident conductor Virginia Martínez, the OSRM perform Shostakovich’s 7th “Leningrad” symphony. Tickets 12 to 20 euros.
14th June: A semi-dramatized performance of West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein, staged by Paco Azorín to the music of the OSRM. Tickets 12 to 20 euros.
There are 10 concerts in the OSRM cycle excluding the initial season opener. Season tickets attract a 30% discount on individual ticket prices, with season tickets costing 64.20, 88.80 or 111 euros.
Further discounts can be obtained purchasing more than one cycle of tickets (see below).
Season tickets
Season tickets for all of the 21 concerts above are priced at between 367.30, 296 or 226.90 euros (averaging out at between 9 and 15 euros per event), amounting to a discount of 40 per cent.
Alternatively, purchasers can opt for single cycles at a 30% discount, purchase two cycles at a discount of 35% or make a booking of between 8 and 17 selected concerts and receive a discount of 25% (“abono à la carte”). The performances on 24th October, 26th November and 28th December are not included in this option.
Grand Concert cycle (Grandes conciertos): A discount of 30% is applied for the purchase of all six, leaving season tickets for the whole cycle at 101.50, 121.10 and 143.50 euros.
Region of Murcia Symphony Orchestra Cycle (OSRM): There are 10 concerts in the OSRM season tickets, with a 30 per cent 30% discount leaving prices of 64.20, 88.80 and 111 euros.
Dance Cycle (Danza): There are seven performances in the "Danza" cycle and a 30% discount is applied for the purchase of all seven, making the season ticket prices for these 7 events 117.10, 137.90 and 100.80 euros.
Grand concerts + OSRM + Dance = 397.30, 296 and 226.90 euros, amounting to a discount of 40 per cent.
Grand Concerts + OSRM = 235, 193.85 or 153.10 euros, amounting to a discount of 35 per cent.
Grand Concerts + Dance = 297.70, 240.50 and 187.85 euros, amounting to a discount of 35 per cent.
OSRM + Dance = 266.20, 209.45 and 152.45 euros, again a 35 per cent discount.
Abono a la Carte: choose between 8 and 20 concerts from the list above for a discount of 25%.
All season ticket payments can be made in three instalments, the first on purchase and the others in November and January by standing order.
