Murcia weather forecast, Thursday April 24

Things are hotting up in Murcia, post-Semana Santa. It’s time again to start cracking out the sun cream as the Region can expect highs of over 30ºC this weekend, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

From this Thursday April 24 and through the whole weekend, up to Sunday 27 and beyond, sunny skies and rising temperatures are the order of the day for Murcia, with some cloudy patches and just a small chance of rain.

Expect some misty early mornings, especially on Thursday and on Friday April 25, when there is also fog predicted for the late afternoon along the coast, mainly near Cartagena. Aemet also warns of “occasional showers… in the northern mountain ranges of the region in the afternoon, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms”.

They also note that there will be a “slight presence of suspended dust” in the air, which, when mixed with the rain, leaves those lovely brown spotted streaks on the windows that we all love so much.

Saturday 26 sees temperatures rise to their peak for the weekend, with minimums around 12-15ºC at night and going up to 26-28ºC by the early afternoon, and even breaking the 30ºC mark in places like Totana, Lorca, Alhama de Murcia and the capital city.

Still, Aemet notes there could be “occasional showers during the afternoon, more likely inland, where they may be accompanied by thunderstorms”. So a brolly to go with your bronzer, then.

The temperatures dip by two or three degrees on Sunday 27, but it should still be nice and warm and sunny, with some cloudy spells and maybe the odd shower here or there, and these conditions are expected to continue into the early part of next week, too, with some heavier cloud and possible rain forecast for Wednesday April 30.
