ARCHIVED - Temperatures take a dip in Murcia as fog and mist roll in: Weekend weather forecast March 16-19
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
The Murcia Region will be much cooler this coming weekend and parts could even experience some scattered showers
Temperatures have already reached record highs for March but the arrival of several different Atlantic fronts this weekend will herald a bit of a change. The temperatures will still be largely pleasant, reaching the mid-20s in parts, but the coming days won’t be nearly as bright and sunny as the last few days and the Region of Murcia could even see some showers late in the day.
Thursday March 16 will be mostly clear with some cloudy intervals, which will gather in strength towards the end of the day. The early morning will be particularly misty along the coast, such as in Los Alcázares (pictured). As is usual for March, there will be a big difference between day and night-time temperatures, with the thermometers tipping 24ºC inland at the height of the day. A light breeze will blow from the east.

Caravaca de la Cruz: 5ºC; 24ºC
Cartagena: 11ºC; 20ºC
Lorca: 9ºC; 24ºC
Murcia: 9ºC; 24ºC
Yecla: 5ºC; 21ºC
The clouds will hang around on Friday March 17 but the Region can expect plenty of sunny spells as well. The mercury will remain largely unchanged with some slight dips, while a southeasterly wind will gather strength along the coast towards the afternoon.

Saturday March 18 will be much more overcast in general, particularly inland, where light afternoon showers are also expected. While the daytime temperatures shouldn’t fluctuate too drastically the night will be noticeably warmer, but a northwesterly breeze could create a slight wind chill.
