2,968 new infections across the region's three provinces, including 930 in Alicante.
The number of new Covid diagnosis in the Valencia region has risen for a third consecutive day with the Ministry of Health confirming 2,968 infections in the last 24 hours - over 1,000 more cases than the 1,876 recorded on Tuesday.
And while there has been a drop in the number of people being treated on hospital wards across the region, an additional six critically ill patients have been moved to ICU in the last 24 hours and there have been five deaths.
According to the last data available, Valencia region's 14-day cumulative incidence rate now stands at 586 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, below the national average of 702, and that of Catalonia (1,088) and Madrid (718), but higher than the cumulative rate in Murcia (445) and Andalusia (540).
New cases: 2,968 new cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR or antigen testing (up from 2,685 on Wednesday), bringing the total number of positives to 459,812 people. By provinces: 930 in Alicante (164,172 in total); 1,788 in Valencia (248,052 in total); and 250 in Castellón (47,586 in total).
Hospitals: There are currently 669 Covid patients being treated in Valencian hospitals (down from 689), of whom 103 are in ICU (up from 97): 171 in the province of Alicante, 28 in ICU; 448 in the province of Valencia, 62 in ICU; 80 in the province of Castellón, 13 in ICU.
Recoveries: 2,919 people have recovered since the last update (up from 2,598), meaning 433,957 people have been given the all-clear since the start of the pandemic: 155,834 in Alicante province; 233,087 in Valencia; and 44,977 in Castellón.
Fatalities: There have been five reported deaths in the last seven days, meaning the total now stands at 7,497: 2,854 in Alicante; 3,831 in Valencia; and 812 in Castellón.
Active cases: There are currently 29,820 active cases, which represent 6.33 per cent of the total positives.
Vaccinations: A total of 3,253,965 people have now received at least one dose and 2,668,132 are fully immunised. By provinces: 958,182 in Alicante; 1,394,357 in Valencia; and 315,593 in Castellón.
Outbreaks: Seven outbreaks with 10 or more associated cases, including one in Alicante province:
Novelda - 11 cases, social origin.
