Where is the nearest airport for the Mar Menor Golf Resort?

The Mar Menor Golf Resort is in the Region of Murcia, (Región de Murcia) in the south-west of Spain. The resort is located within the municipality of Torre Pacheco, which forms part of the Comarca del Mar Menor. The Mar Menor is Europe’s largest salt water lake, and is separated from the Mediterranean sea by a narrow channel, so although the water is still salty, it is non-tidal, providing superb sailing conditions and safe bathing, with dozens of soft sandy beaches, which slope very gently into the water.

This stretch of coastline is known as the Costa Cálida, or warm coast, Murcia being the warmest land-based region of Spain throughout the year. ( as opposed to the islands of the Canaries, Balearics)

The Mar Menor Golf Resort is just outside the town of Torre Pacheco, on the main RM-30 which runs between Torre Pacheco and the coastal town of Los Alcázares, meaning that the Mar Menor and Mediterranean beaches are only about twenty minutes away.

The capital City of Murcia is a similar distance to the north, and the major coastal port of Cartagena is about half an hour away to the south, all of them easy to reach on the Region’s motorway network.
The resort is one of 6 Jack Nicklaus designed resorts, all within an easy drive, so there are 5 other quality golf courses on these resorts alone, and a least 8 within a half an hour drive of the resort.

Hiring a car is highly recommended for anyone considering visiting the resort on holiday. The use of seat belts is obligatory in Spain, and all children under the age of 12 must be secured in cars using child seats and restraints, so make sure to advise car hire companies of child ages if booking a rental car for family use.
