The fact that these festivos fall on a Tuesday and Thursday this year means that we have one normal working day, one holiday, one working day, one holiday and Friday is a work day again. On the Monday, Wednesday and Friday, shops, supermarkets, businesses and schools may close if they wish, so it’s a bit confusing to work out which places will be open this week and where you can do your shopping on any given day.
These are the shopping centres and supermarkets in the Region of Murcia which will be will be open this week.
Shopping centres in Murcia
During this week, the shops in the Nueva Condomina, Thader and Atalayas shopping centres in Murcia, and the Parque Almenara shopping mall in Lorca will be open to the public every day, including on the bank holidays on Tuesday 6 and Thursday 8, as will the Espacio Mediterráneo in Cartagena and Dos Mares in San Javier, which are open all year round.
It's also worth noting that all of these shopping centres will also be open on the next few Sundays, December 11 and 18. Christmas Day, Sunday December 25, will be the only day of the month that they are closed.
Stores and supermarkets
El Corte Inglés will be open to customers on both Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 10pm, guaranteeing a full service during the festive season. The rest of the working days of the week will remain unchanged.
Other stores such as Ikea and Media Markt will also be open all week, including on Tuesday and Thursday, as well as on Sundays 11 and 18.
As usual on public holidays, Mercadona will not open its doors on Tuesday 6 or Thursday 8, but they will be open to customers on the day in between, Wednesday December 7.
Lidl, Carrefour, Día, Consum, Alcampo and Aldi supermarkets will all be open on Tuesday December 6 and Thursday 8, although the opening hours of each shop may vary from normal. In this case, it is best to check the opening hours of your nearest store on their official websites.
