The Mar Menor Murcia

The Mar Menor is Europe’s largest saltwater lake with a surface area of 170 square kilometres, 70km of internal coastline, separated from the Mediterranean by the 22km long strip of land, La Manga del Mar Menor, offering a large choice of sandy beaches and calm bathing conditions.

The Mar Menor is shallow, with warm water and higher salinity than the Med, a non-tidal haven for watersports enthusiasts and those who enjoy the safety of this tranquil “little sea”.

The municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Los Alcázares and Cartagena, all have beaches within the Mar Menor.
