Digital screens as well as friendly staff as Los Alcázares embraces sustainable technology

The tourist office in Los Narejos, in the municipality of Los Alcázares, has reopened in Avenida Río Nalón in a slightly different format to its previous incarnation, offering not only face-to-face attention to the public but also digital services in English, French and German as well as Spanish 24 hours a day.

Following an investment in the new office of just over 150,000 euros (including IVA), this is the next step forward in associating tourism with environmentally sustainable projects suing funds from the EU Next Generation scheme, and is ideally located on one of the main tourist throughfares of the inland Mar Menor, close to many hotels, other tourist accommodation establishments, shops and restaurants.

The office is small, occupying an area of only 38 square metre, but at the same time open and attractive, and is soon to be complemented by a small garden area.

Staff will be manning the office from Tuesdays to Saturdays between 10.00 and 13.00, while the multilingual digital services are available on screens both inside and outside the premises, as Councillor María José Díaz explained at the official presentation this week. At the same time, similar screens can be found in tourist accommodation throughout the municipality, including details of what to see, where to go and what’s on as well as practical details regarding accommodation, eateries and the like.
