ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
This Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday promise to bring incredibly high temperatures to the Region of Murcia
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Murcia, Thursday August 1
Get ready for an absolute scorcher of a week in Murcia as we cross the threshold from July into August, the two hottest months of the year.
There will be weather warnings left, right and centre this week, but mostly in the centre of the Region, in the Vega del Segura area including Murcia city, Molina de Segura and Totana, which could see temperatures getting up to 45ºC by Thursday August 1.
First though, Monday July 29 brings “skies with intervals of medium and high clouds,” according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), who are also “not ruling out scattered showers in the inland mountain ranges, which may be accompanied by occasional thunderstorms.”
They also predict “morning mist” and some more calima, or “dust in suspension”.
On Tuesday 30, the whole Region will be on alert for high temperatures of up to 38ºC during the day, even the inland parts of the Campo de Cartagena and the southern Murcia towns. It could even reach 40ºC in some parts of the centre of the Region, and the continuing presence of the calima will add to the feeling of extreme heat.

The sunny and possibly slightly cloudy skies continue on Wednesday 31, and the temperatures keep rising steadily, up to maximums of 43ºC on Wednesday and up to an incredible 45ºC on Thursday.

Thursday will be the hottest day of the week, and after that the temperatures will ease off a little, with both maximums during the day and minimums and night falling slightly as we go into the weekend. But make no mistake: it will still be very hot!
