ARCHIVED - 94 towns and villages in Andalusia remain confined as free movement between provinces begins
ARCHIVED ARTICLE
The latest reviews of the coronavirus situation in Andalusia have led the regional authorities to relax restrictions on movement between provinces.
From Thursday April 29 the borders between Andalusia’s eight provinces will be open until at least May 9, when the nationwide state of alarm concludes, meaning that for the first time in three months, residents are finally free to move between the internal provincial borders of the eight provinces within the Andalusia region (Almería, Granada, Málaga, Cádiz, Huelva, Seville, Córdoba and Jaén) .
However, the region’s external borders remain closed for the time being.
Shops and restaurants are also now allowed to open until 10.30 pm., but the curfew is still in place between 11 pm. and 6 am.
Free movement is still, however, impossible for the inhabitants of 94 towns and villages with higher incidence rates. Residents cannot enter or leave any of these municipalities without just cause, as their incidence rates are higher than 500 cases per 100,000 residents.
