ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
There will be rain in Andalucía for the start of this week and glorious sunshine by the weekend
Andalucía weather forecast, Wednesday May 1
The weather forecast for this week in Andalucía is for showers to see out April and as we head into May, it will get sunnier again, while temperatures take a little drip before shooting back up.
We’ll start out the week with the weather playing ping-pong across the autonomous community of Andalucía. The rain and storms start out in the east on Monday April 29, bringing thunder and lightning to Granada, Córdoba, Jaén, Almería and Málaga, and there will be yellow weather warnings issued for the far east for the risk of accumulated rainfall of up to 15mm per hour. A little bit of the rain will stretch as far over as Seville, but just a little shower, while Cádiz and Huelva remain dry.

On Tuesday 30, that all changes as the rain shifts over to the west of the region, giving the provinces on that side the chance to fill up their reservoirs with a bit more water, plus Córdoba caught in the middle. However, the east won’t escape entirely as there will now be yellow weather warnings on the coasts of Málaga, Granada and Almería for winds of up to 50-60kmh and waves up to 3 metres high.

Over the course of Wednesday May 1, which is a bank holiday in all of Spain for May Day, the rain will make its way back east again, leaving significant showers in the centre of the region. The weather alerts for wind on the southeast coast will also remain in place for Wednesday but the rain will die away towards the evening.

Through all this, temperatures will remain fairly high at their usual level that we have become accustomed to of late – mild nights and days when it gets up into the low 20s. On Thursday May 2, when the rain stops and the sun comes back out for everyone, that changes as temperatures take a little dip, so that both night-time and daytime temps will be a couple of degrees lower.

With the exception of some fleeting showers in the far north of Jaén on Friday, it will stay sunny and bright all over for the rest of the week, and temperatures will actually rise again for the weekend, getting up into the high 20s and even over 30ºC around Seville and Córdoba.
