Temperatures climb again as September begins: Alicante weather forecast August 31-September 3
The first days of September will bring some cloud and sunshine, with temperatures rising to 35°C in parts of the province by Thursday

After a lovely few days of cooler, more autumn-like temperatures, another heatwave is on the horizon for Spain. However, there are currently no heat alerts in place for Alicante Province, suggesting the area may escape the worst of the rising temperatures.
That said, temperatures will creep back up, both during the day and overnight. The biggest rise is expected inland, where some areas could be back at 35°C by Thursday, while coastal temperatures will be a little lower.
Here is the daily breakdown for Alicante Province from Monday, August 31 to Thursday, September 3:
Monday August 31
Monday will be mostly clear across Alicante Province, although there will be some cloud along the coast and even more cloud could develop towards the end of the day.Temperatures will reach 32°C in Alcoy, Elche and Orihuela, while Alicante city and Dénia will both reach 30°C.
Winds will be light and variable in the morning, then light to moderate from the south and east around midday.
Tuesday September 1
Tuesday will bring a little more cloud, and AEMET says that light, scattered rain cannot be ruled out, although it is not expected to be particularly widespread.Temperatures will be pretty similar to Monday, with Alicante reaching 31°C and Dénia 30°C. Elche and Orihuela will both reach 32°C, while Alcoy will reach 31°C.
Winds will be light and variable at first, becoming predominantly easterly around lunchtime and moderate at times during the afternoon.
Wednesday September 2
Wednesday should see conditions settle down again, with some cloud during the morning before skies become mostly clear. Temperatures will start to climb inland, with Alcoy and Orihuela both reaching 34°C. Elche will reach 33°C, while Alicante city and Dénia will remain at around 31°C.
Winds will be light and variable, becoming easterly around midday and a bit stronger at times during the afternoon.
Thursday September 3
Thursday will be another mostly clear day, but the temperatures will continue to rise inland.
Alcoy and Orihuela are both forecast to reach 35°C, while Elche will reach 34°C. Alicante city and Dénia will be slightly cooler at 32°C.Temperatures along the coast will be relatively manageable compared with those inland, although 32°C will still feel decidedly summery in the first week of September.
Winds will again be light and variable, becoming easterly around midday with moderate intervals during the afternoon.
It is worth keeping an eye on your local town hall social media pages and AEMET over the coming days, as a heatwave has been forecast for parts of Spain and the situation could change. If temperatures rise further, a heat alert could be put in place.
For now, though, Alicante looks set to escape the worst of the intense heat, with the highest temperatures expected inland and no heat alerts currently in place for the province.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this week:

Tuesday September 1: Min 19; Max 32°C
