Rain and thunderstorms make a comeback in parts of Andalusia this week
Weather outlook on Thursday August 29
The week will begin with cloudy skies along the Mediterranean coast, bringing the possibility of occasional drizzle during the first half of Monday August 26, but the sun should make an appearance in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the rest of Andalucía will experience partly cloudy skies, with some daytime cloudiness in the eastern interior mountain ranges. Occasional showers could be accompanied by thunderstorms.
Temperatures will gently descend, with minimums remaining largely unchanged. As for the winds, expect moderate easterly breezes along the Mediterranean coast, with strong intervals on the Almería coast and the Strait.
Tuesday August 27 will bring a mix of sun and clouds, with intervals of low clouds and morning mist along the coasts. There's a chance of light and scattered rain on the Mediterranean coast, so keep those umbrellas handy.
In the eastern mountain ranges, cloudiness will develop, bringing the possibility of occasional showers, and perhaps even a rumble of thunder.
Temperatures will only see slight changes, keeping things comfortable.
Another day of partly cloudy skies, Wednesday August 28 will offer intervals of low clouds and morning mist along the coasts. The mountains will see some cloudiness too, and those eastern mountains might catch the tail end of a passing shower.
Temperatures are on the rise in the eastern half of the region, while they hold steady elsewhere.
Winds will be light and variable, with a tendency to moderate easterly breezes along the eastern Mediterranean coast.
Thursday August 29 will bring cloudy skies, with a predominance of medium and high clouds. There's also a chance of occasional weak showers.
Minimum temperatures will hold firm or even rise a notch, while maximums will see an increase along the eastern Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. The Mediterranean side will experience light to moderate easterly winds, with strong intervals on the coast of Almería, with a Levante wind in the Strait picking up pace to strong in the afternoon.
As we head into the weekend, an approaching DANA will lead to abundant cloud cover in Cadiz on Friday August 30, and the rest of the community can expect some overcast intervals throughout the day.
The rain will make an appearance again on Saturday August 31, with particularly heavy showers forecast in Almeria, Jaen and Granada.
Rain in these areas will persist through Sunday September 1, with partly cloudy skies predicted in the rest of Andalucía.
