The runup to the Christmas holidays is set to be mostly bright and sunny this week
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday December 21
In the southern Spanish autonomous community of Andalucía, it will be a dry and sunny week, the last before Christmas. Temperatures at night will drop to near zero in most inland areas, while the coast will have nocturnal lows of 6-10ºC. During the day, it will be around 15-20ºC in the afternoons, and the only slight rain forecast this week is on Wednesday in the far northwest and east of the region.
According to the weather forecast from Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Monday December 18 brings “fairly cloudy or clear skies” with “intervals of low clouds on the western Mediterranean coast and the area of the Strait of Gibraltar”. They also predict “light frost in the eastern interior” around the mountains of Granada and Jaén, and “moderate easterly” winds in Cádiz and western Almería.
Tuesday 19 will be similarly clear and a bit cloudy, with the addition of “intervals of low morning clouds in the area of the Strait of Gibraltar”. Aemet continues, “Temperatures with little change, except for an increase in maximum temperatures on the Mediterranean coast.” They also forecast more frosts in the eastern interior.
On Wednesday 20, it will be a bit cloudier overall and there could be some “light rainfall” in the northwest, in the provinces of Huelva and Córdoba, as well as in the far eastern side of Almería, Granada and Jaén. In the southwest, windspeeds could get up to a blustery 30-35kmh around the Strait of Gibraltar, before it quiets down for the rest of the week.
