Andalusia weekly weather forecast January 29-February 4: Warm, with some strong winds and cloud

Some cloud cover and rainy conditions on the coast at the beginning of this week, but temperatures are still pleasantly high

While it might not be quite as hot as it was last week, when temperatures in parts of the coast reached up to 32ºC in the sun (which doesn’t actually count, but it’s still impressive), this week in the southern Spanish autonomous community of Andalucía will still bring daytime temperatures of over 20ºC and minimums at night-time comfortably above freezing in all but the highest-altitude areas.
There may be a chance of rain along the coast of Cádiz and Málaga, but as we head into February the indications are that the current dry spell of weather, which is causing worrying water shortages, is set to continue.
Monday January 29 will, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), be reasonably cloudy, especially on the Costa del Sol and in Almería, and “light rainfall” is likely in the Strait of Gibraltar.
Andalucía weather forecast, Monday January 29
For Tuesday 30, Aemet has issued a yellow weather warning for the area around the Strait of Gibraltar, where strong winds of 50-61kmh (gale force 7) are expected between 6pm and midnight and some more “occasional light rainfall”. Elsewhere, the wind will be “moderate” and the skies clear and sunny. Sevilla will be the place with the highest temperatures throughout the whole week.

Wednesday 31, the last day of January, bring “low cloudy skies with intervals of high clouds” and “morning mist on the Mediterranean coast, the Guadalquivir Valley and the area of the Strait of Gibraltar, where occasional light rainfall is not ruled out”. There will be little change in temperatures, with minimums still around 4-8ºC and maximums reaching up to the high teens and low 20s. There will be “winds from the east, light inland and moderate on the coast” and “very strong gusts in the area of the Strait of Gibraltar”.
It's much the same as we move into February, with Thursday 1 setting the scene for a pleasantly mild and sunny weekend to come on Friday and beyond.
