For the third consecutive year, the Regional Blood Donation Centre and the ‘Manuel Coronado’ Association of Friends of Culture in the town of Águilas have launched a blood donation campaign which, under the catchphrase of ‘Donate blood for the love of art’ (‘Donar sangre por amor al arte’), will take place this Tuesday April 16.

 

The idea is to appeal to more people to give blood. With the collaboration of the Águilas Town Hall and the artist couple Muher, the Águilas association has asked people to donate blood in the Infanta Elena Auditorium in Águilas, from 5pm to 9pm this Tuesday. It’s important to check the eligibility criteria for giving blood in Spain before going along.

 

Everyone who gives blood at the drive will be given a reproduction of a work of art made for this purpose, along with a ticket for the El Hornillo multiplex cinema.

 

The collections will take place at the Auditorio y Palacio de Congresos Infanta Doña Elena and, although it is not necessary, it is recommended that an appointment be made in advance for organisational reasons at this link.

 

The local Councillor for Health, Rosalía Casado, said, “Blood is vital to save lives and donating it is an enormous act of generosity.”

 

The artwork, a print of which will be given to all participants, is of the palm grove at the entrance to the Águilas Sur Health Centre.
