Bellingham will help Real Madrid return to the top

The English midfielder’s experience in big tournaments and his calm under pressure could be key for the Spanish side
It’s been somewhat of a bittersweet season for Real Madrid. They’ve won the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and the Copa del Rey, but Barcelona are La Liga champions, and Carlo Ancelotti’s side crashed out of the Champions League at the semi-finals stage. La Liga and the Champions League are the holy grail for Real Madrid, and making it back to the top of Spanish and European football is a priority, which many feel Jude Bellingham can help make happen.
Bellingham, 19, isn’t only one of the best young footballers on the planet; he’s one of the best, period. The fact that he’s nineteen means that the levels he will be able to get to are quite something, and it’s just one of many reasons why Real Madrid are doing everything they can to get a deal for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder over the line. The move will undoubtedly influence
La Liga betting, considering he’s already deemed world-class as a teenager, with a fee in the region of €130 million said to be being talked over.
Real Madrid are reported to have beaten off competition from the likes of Liverpool for Bellingham’s signature, and one of the first things he will bring to Los Blancos and their midfield is energy. Real Madrid have long relied on ageing stars such as Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, but now it’s time for evolution, and
Bellingham, alongside the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde, are very much the future.
Something that comes with playing for
Real Madrid is pressure, and the weight of expectation is huge. The target every season is to win both La Liga and the Champions League, and there are very few clubs on the planet that set these goals with the realistic aim of pulling them off. Many younger players may find it tough to deal with such huge expectations, but Bellingham is also proving he’s more than capable on that front too, which is why he could be integral to future success at the Bernabeu.
For example, Bellingham left Birmingham City to join German giants Borussia Dortmund and was immediately greeted with the pressure of playing for a club that was tasked with competing with Bayern Munich for honours in the Bundesliga and one that also took part in the Champions League regularly. But he didn’t even require as much as a bedding-in period, as he’s thrived off the pressure and delivered great numbers domestically and in Europe.
So, there’s all that, and we’ve not even talked about Bellingham’s abilities on the pitch as a goalscoring midfielder who also creates for his teammates and has led them multiple times as captain. He’s excellent with the ball at his feet, dead or moving. He can find passes, make key passes, or run at players showing excellent close control at high speed. Bellingham is also not scared to do the hard work and put in tackles to regain possession. He’s an all-rounder in every sense, and adding him to Real Madrid’s midfield could make them an unstoppable force once again.
