ARCHIVED ARTICLE
The municipality in the Marina Alta, Alicante province, has put together a fun-packed program of festive activities
Benissa will kick off its festive celebrations with the official turning on of the Christmas lights in the town centre at 7pm on Friday December 3, together with the launch of a shopping initiative that will run until January 5, with free scratch cards, discounts at participating shops and a draw with several prizes of 100 euros.
The big switch-on in Plaza Rei Jaume I at 7pm will be followed by a concert from the balconies in the square, and a street party with hot chocolate.
"It's really worth young people coming along as there will also be a special visit and a surprise or two," said Benissa Mayor, Arturo Poquet, adding: "We have put together an ambitious program that aims to reach all possible audiences, and we hope to be able to hold them all normally, but that will depend on how the pandemic situation evolves, and the restrictions."
