Daytime temperatures will begin to climb again across Alicante province this week
Weather outlook on Thursday December 21
The lead-up to Christmas will be dry and bright in most of Spain thanks to the presence of an anticyclone which has brought pleasant, settled weather to much of Europe.
In Alicante, the temperatures experienced a significant drop over the weekend but the thermometers will begin to creep up again this week, even exceeding 20ºC in parts.
Monday December 18
After a very overcast start Monday promises to be mostly bright and clear throughout Alicante province. Light mists and fog banks will be confined to the north during the early hours and a northerly breeze will remain light for the most part. Daytime temperatures will remain in the mid to high teens with few changes.

Alcoy: 4ºC to 12ºC
Alicante: 7ºC to 16ºC
Denia: 8ºC to 16ºC
Elche: 5ºC to 17ºC
Orihuela: 5ºC to 16ºC
Tuesday December 19
The mercury will rise by a couple of degrees on Tuesday during a day which will be slightly cloudy or clear. Weak frosts are likely inland and a light westerly wind will gather in strength along the coast in the middle of the day.

Alcoy: 5ºC to 17ºC
Alicante: 6ºC to 18ºC
Denia: 7ºC to 19ºC
Elche: 4ºC to 19ºC
Orihuela: 2ºC to 18ºC
Wednesday December 20
An Atlantic front will approach northern Spain on Wednesday and although it will have far less impact further south, it will still result in more overcast skies in Alicante. The night-time temperatures will be a little higher than previous day but the day will be noticeably cooler, especially inland. A moderate wind from the west and northwest will be occasionally strong in coastal areas.

Alicante: 8ºC to 19ºC
Denia: 8ºC to 19ºC
Elche: 9ºC to 20ºC
Orihuela: 8ºC to 18ºC
Thursday December 21
Thursday will be mostly bright and sunny with some occasional cloudiness. Night-time temperatures will fall again in the southern half of the province but should climb by a degree or two everywhere else. A moderate northwest wind will develop into gusts in northern Alicante while remaining weak elsewhere.
