Falling temperatures with a chance of midweek storms: Murcia weather forecast Aug 28-31

Following a stormy weekend, the temperatures won’t exceed the mid 30s in the Region of Murcia in the coming days
The weather in the Region of Murcia shifted dramatically over the weekend from the scorching temperatures of the summer’s fourth heatwave to decidedly more winter-like conditions, and several areas of community experienced violent storms that downed trees and felled electricity and telephone wires.
With the passage of storm Betty, the forecast is more stable for the coming days and generally clear skies with falling temperatures have been predicted by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), although occasional showers and even stormy episodes could hit inland towns later in the week.
Monday August 28
The temperatures fell by several degrees on Sunday August 27 and the thermometers will continue without much change on Monday, although the night will be considerably cooler than previous days, reaching a maximum of 23ºC in Cartagena and hovering in the high-teens elsewhere. The day will be mostly sunny with a southwesterly breeze along the coast.

Caravaca de la Cruz: 12ºC to 30ºC
Cartagena: 23ºC to 31ºC
Lorca: 16ºC to 33ºC
Murcia: 19ºC to 33ºC
Yecla: 12ºC to 28ºC
Tuesday August 29
Mostly clear or slightly cloudy skies are forecast for Tuesday although the afternoon will grow more overcast inland. Few temperature changes are expected with the exception of central areas of the Region, where the thermometers will climb slightly. Light variable winds are predicted throughout.

Caravaca de la Cruz: 14ºC to 32ºC
Cartagena: 23ºC to 30ºC
Lorca: 17ºC to 33ºC
Murcia: 20ºC to 35ºC
Yecla: 13ºC to 30ºC
Wednesday August 30
Wednesday will be slightly cloudy across the Region, more so inland where showers accompanied by storms are likely. There will be few changes to the nighttime temperatures by the mercury will fall by a couple of degrees at the height of the day. Light variable winds will feel breezy along the coast.

Caravaca de la Cruz: 14ºC to 28ºC
Cartagena: 24ºC to 29ºC
Lorca: 18ºC to 30ºC
Murcia: 21ºC to 31ºC
Yecla: 14ºC to 28ºC
Thursday August 31
The outlook for the last day of August is much the same as on Wednesday with maximum temperatures that will barely touch 30ºC. Inland areas will be largely overcast although the entire Region will see slightly cloudy skies.
