February 3 to 18 Mazarron Carnival: Music, colour and tradition The municipality of Mazarrón is preparing for its most colourful and anticipated annual celebration: Carnival 2024. The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has expressed his utmost enthusiasm and interest in this festivity, highlighting the importance of the active participation of local support groups, whose contribution has been fundamental in the growth and success of the event.

"This Carnival is not just a party; it is a key driver for our local economy, attracting visitors from outside the municipality in a generally quiet period," Mayor Campillo said. In addition, he extended an open invitation to everyone to actively join the festivities.

The Councillor for Celebrations, Miguel Ángel Peña, has shared some details of the program, which includes "parades, galas, live performances, fairground attractions, children's workshops, a pet contest, and the significant night of Shrove Tuesday with the bonfire of Don Carnaval".

This year, "as a new addition, the character of Doña Cuaresma will be introduced, who will be officially presented at the official dinner on February 3," announced Councillor Peña.

The presentation of the official program of the Mazarrón Carnival has been held in the Plenary Hall of the Casas Consistoriales in the presence of the outgoing musos and musas, Juan Antonio García and Encarni Paredes (Adults) and José Antonio Ródenas and Adriana Plaza (Children).

9.30 pm: Support groups 2024 conviviality dinner in Zaira Rooms (Bolnuevo). Includes the presentation of the Musos and Musas for 2024 and costume competition

Friday February 9

5.00 pm: Inauguration of funfair attractions, located on the esplanade of the old Guardia Civil barracks, with a 2 x 1 offer for children
10.00 pm: Gala for the Election of Musos, Muses, Doña Cuaresma and Carnival Man of the Year at the Sports Pavilion "La Aceña"
11.30 pm: Evening party with local DJs in the Sports Pavilion "La Aceña"

Saturday February 10

From 4.00 pm: Local DJs and at 5.00 pm. Children's Parade, starting on the esplanade of the old Guardia Civil barracks

Sunday February 11

11.00 am: Children's workshops at the Marina
4.00 pm: Local DJs
6.00 pm: Adult Parade, following the same route as the children's parade

Tuesday February 13

9.00 pm: Performance by the Blue Zone Orchestra + Tina X in the Municipal Tent of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento
11.00 pm: Bonfire of "Don Carnal" in the same location

Friday February 16

5.00 pm: 2 x 1 Fair on the esplanade of the old Guardia Civil barracks

Saturday February 17

5.30 pm: III Pet Carnival in the Municipal Tent of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento
