See the times and dates for all the main events of the Cádiz city carnival 2024
Carnival time is Spain is always an exciting event and, along with Gran Canaria and Águilas, the Carnaval de Cádiz is one of the biggest and most spectacular carnival celebrations in the country.
The main highlights of the carnival in Cádiz are the grand parade; the food stalls; the singing groups that write and perform their own comedy songs (called ‘chirigotas’) in the streets, which are an art form in themselves and for which they compete for the best and funniest; and the fact that absolutely everyone, young and old, dresses up in a fancy dress costume.
The main carnival parade this year is on Sunday February 11.
Here are the main dates for all the best Cádiz carnival events for 2023:

Thursday February 8
- 12.30pm: Reception of the carnival announcer (pregonero), the children’s pregonero, the Gran Momo and golden Hercules at the Town Hall
- 5pm to 9pm: Carnival Ludopandi (Children and youth costume dance, workshops and other activities) at the Casa de la Juventud
- 8pm: Final of the Romanceros Competition in the Gran Teatro Falla
- 10pm: Pole concert in the Plaza de San Antonio
Friday February 9
- 8pm: Final Official Competition of Carnival Groups 2024 in the Gran Teatro Falla
Saturday February 10
- 12pm: Children’s Costume Parade and Children’s Groups from Glorieta Cortadura to Glorieta Ana Orantes
