ARCHIVED - Flights to and from the Murcia airport in Corvera during 2020

Seats are available on services to and from 22 destinations

The UK dominates flight schedules but Luton and East Midlands seem to have been dropped

As the new year begins there are plenty of fingers crossed regarding the Region of Murcia International Airport in Corvera, which opened to commercial flights on 15^th January 2019 and recorded lower passenger numbers than its predecessor in San Javier in 2018, as efforts continue to attract more airlines and more services for passengers travelling to and from the Costa Cálida.

At present the winter flight schedule at Corvera is a relatively sparse one, but already flights have been confirmed to and from a total of 22 destinations during 2019, a few of them in the winter, most of them in the summer and some all year round. As things stand a week into January, and with the possibility still open of more services being added, the full list of services for which seats can be reserved is as follows (although the flight schedules for next winter have not yet been determined):

UK FLIGHTS

Birmingham: Ryanair are already running two flights in each direction on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and flights on Mondays and Thursdays will be added starting on 30^th March.

In addition, Jet2 will be operating the route on Mondays and Fridays from 22^nd May onwards.

Bournemouth: Ryanair have announced four flights a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, starting on 30^th March.

Bristol: Easyjet currently offer flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays and will be adding a Thursday service on 6^th February. On 31^st March the service will be extended to Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays before they become daily as of 18^th May.

Glasgow Prestwick: Ryanair have announced a twice-weekly service on Mondays on Friday starting on 30^th March.

Leeds-Bradford: Jet2 will begin flights on Mondays and Fridays on 30^th March, adding a Wednesday service as of 27^th May.

Gatwick: Easyjet currently offer flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and will be upgrading the service to make it daily on 12^th February.

Southend: Easyjet are maintaining their Tuesday and Saturday flights until 24^th March, after which the days will be switched to Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Stansted: Ryanair’s flights currently run on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and will be in operation every day from 27^th March.

In addition, Jet2 will begin a twice-weekly service on 1^st May, running on Mondays and Fridays.

Manchester: The current Ryanair winter schedule includes flights on Mondays, Saturdays and some Wednesdays, and lasts until the end of March. From then on there will be flights every day of the week except Tuesday.

At the same time Jet2 will be bringing in Monday and Friday flights on 30^th March, adding Wednesday to the scheduling as of 1^st May.

Note: This year Ryanair are not currently offering flights to and from Luton or East Midlands.

IRELAND FLIGHTS

Dublin: Until the end of March Ryanair offer flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays, upgrading to daily for the summer.

NORWAY FLIGHTS

Oslo: Norwegian begins its summer schedule with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays as of 29^th April.

Bergen and Stavanger: Norwegian’s Tuesday and Saturday flights to and from both airports begin on 20^th June.

Trondheim: Norwegian also begin services to and from Trondheim on 20^th June, running only on Saturdays.

BELGIUM FLIGHTS

Antwerp: Tui currently operate flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and will be adding Wednesdays to the schedule as of 7^th April.

Bruges-Ostend: Tui’s summer schedule includes flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting on 4^th April.

Charleroi: Tui’s Tuesday and Friday flights are already in operation.

DOMESTIC FLIGHTS WITHIN SPAIN

Gran Canaria: Binter continue with their winter flights to and from the Canaries on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Barcelona: Vueling begin operating this long-awaited route on 30th March, with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Palma de Mallorca: Ryanair’s twice-weekly service begins on 29^th March with flights on Thursdays and Sundays.

Asturias: Volotea repeat their summer flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting on 30^th May.

Bilbao: This summer Volotea open the new route between the Costa Cálida and the Basque Country with flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays, starting on 27^th May.

In addition, charter flights are anticipated to and from other destinations, including Hungary and the Czech Republic, as was the case in the summer of 2019.
