Full schedule of Murcia-Madrid Ouigo trains restart from this week
The temporary cancellations of the four daily high-speed trains between Murcia and Madrid have now been recovered
From Thursday February 27, the Region of Murcia will once again have full high-speed train connectivity with Madrid, as Ouigo resumes its four daily services between the two cities.
The temporary cancellations, which were implemented due to technical adjustments, have now been resolved, restoring the usual schedule.
The reinstated services include the morning train departing from Madrid at 8.15am and arriving in Murcia at 11.01am, as well as the return journey from Murcia at 12.39pm, reaching Madrid at 3.23pm.
These routes, along with the existing services, bring the total back to four daily Ouigo trains.
The decision to restore full service comes after a meeting between the Region of Murcia’s Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Jorge García Montoro (above, right), and Ouigo’s General Manager in Spain, Hélène Valenzuela (above, left). The meeting, held at the French company’s headquarters, reviewed the performance of the service since its launch.
García Montoro emphasised the benefits of Ouigo’s service for regional connectivity, noting that the four daily trains offer a journey time of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, with a weekly capacity of 14,000 seats.
He also highlighted that these connections compensate for what he described as inadequate scheduling by the central government, which he argued should have fully addressed passenger demand from the outset of high-speed operations in the region.
The minister also pointed to the economic and tourism benefits of the route’s consolidation, as well as Ouigo’s direct communication service with customers, which ensures that any issues or information requests are handled efficiently without intermediaries.
With all four daily high-speed services now back in operation, passengers travelling between Murcia and Madrid can once again enjoy enhanced flexibility and convenience, further strengthening the region’s transport links with the Spanish capital.
