Heavy rains mid-week but silver lining for the weekend: Andalusia weather forecast June 5-11
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
It will be a very rainy Wednesday, but the ‘summer’ sun will come out from next weekend
There will be plenty of rain in Andalucía on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, but after that we may be looking at a lovely weekend and plenty more pleasant weather to come.
The week starts with plenty of cloudiness during the day on Monday June 5, with showers and thunderstorms which may be locally heavy and accompanied by hail in the east of the region, around parts of Granada, Almeria and Jaén. There will be intervals of low clouds in the morning on the Mediterranean slope and in the Strait of Gibraltar as well as light winds from the east.

Tuesday June 6 will tend to become much more overcast towards the end of the day and there could even be some showers and strong easterly winds in Cadiz near Gibraltar. Temperatures of up to 34ºC are forecast in Seville, and in the low-30s around the rest of the area, near Cordoba.

That cloudiness will turn to heavy rain across the entire region of Andalucía on Wednesday morning, though it should stop everywhere by the afternoon. Be warned that such short and sudden downpours are liable to cause flash flooding, though for the moment no weather alerts have been issued.

The rain returns on Thursday afternoon, June 8, but as the rainclouds are not as dark and heavy it should be less intense.
