What’s nearby
Isla Plana is a quiet area, but a popular retreat for many in summer, meaning it is a good area to purchase either a holiday home or to invest in buying a property for use as a tourist let.
The area has been largely unaffected by the major development projects happening in other areas of the Murcia coastline, and so still retains a natural charm that is hard to find anywhere else. It’s not hard to see why many people fall in love with this part of the Bay of Mazarrón immediately when they see the spectacular views upon approaching it from the Cuestas del Cedacero road.
There are also good public transport bus links in the area, for those who want to park up and take a bus into one of the busier local hubs like Mazarrón or the Port of Mazarrón, or even Cartagena city, which is about an hour’s ride away.
The nearest golf course is a mere 9km away, and visitors to the area also enjoy the Cueva del Agua tourist site nearby. Meanwhile, Murcia International Corvera Airport is around a 45-minute drive away.
There is a health clinic not far away in a modern building that is set back slightly from the main road, while the social club opposite the church includes a meeting room as well as the popular bars and terraces, which serve as the local meeting point and main social centre of the area. The area also has all the local facilities you could want, including shops, a butcher’s, a baker’s, a chemist’s, an estate agent, a hairdresser and a bank.
