The spectacular Orihuela Costa event is one of the largest parades in Europe
Cabo Roig is set to turn green once again as the highly anticipated St Patrick’s Day Parade returns for its 12th spectacular edition on Sunday March 16, 2025. The biggest Irish celebration on the Orihuela Costa promises an unforgettable day packed with music, entertainment, bacon and cabbage, and plenty of Guinness of course!
Voted the best-organised festival in the Vega Baja in 2024, the Cabo Roig St Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the largest in Europe, attracting around 25,000 spectators each year. This is more than just a parade - it’s a fusion of Irish, British and Spanish culture, bringing the entire community together for a full day of festivities.
The famous Cabo Roig Strip will be transformed into a sea of green, with more than 60 acts taking to the streets in a dazzling display of colour, music and Irish pride. Expect to see the Ex-Irish Army Veterans Pipe Band, drummers, stilt walkers, circus performers, classic cars, motorbikes, dancers and incredible floats designed by local businesses.
Leading the parade this year will be none other than All-Ireland football legend Charlie Redmond, a three-time All-Star award recipient and one of Dublin’s greatest Gaelic footballers.
Festivities kick off with a classic car and motorcycle exhibition, setting the stage for an afternoon of non-stop entertainment. Bars and restaurants along the strip will be serving special menus and ice-cold pints of Guinness, while live music and family-friendly fun will continue long into the evening.
The parade itself will start at 3pm from Calle Agua, heading southward along Calle del Mar and turning right at the end of the road to proceed northward along the front of the Strip beside the N-332.
Bar terraces along the parade route, both at the front and back of the Strip, are always absolutely packed so make sure you get there very early to grab a good spot.
This year’s official charity partner, A Helping Hand Food and Clothes Bank, will be collecting donations throughout the day, so bring your generosity along with your Irish spirit.
