Two evenings of free concerts and guided tours at the Museo Barón de Benifayó in San Pedro del Pinatar

March 19 and 20 Pinatar Folk returns to San Pedro del Pinatar for International Museums Day The Barón de Benifayó museum in San Pedro del Pinatar is hosting live musical events on May 19 and 20 to celebrate International Museums Day, featuring the sounds of Malagatos, Juan José Robles, Túa and Acetre.

The Pinatar Folk event was last held as long ago as 2011 after San Pedro had been something of a pioneering music venue in the 1970s and 80s, and the revamped festival gets under way on Friday May 19 with a show featuring the Málaga-based group Malagatos and Juan José Robles (from Alhama de Murcia) at 21.00.

The following evening the entertainment begins at 20.00, the performers being the Murcia group Túa and then Acetre, a veteran group from Extremadura in western Spain.

All events are free of charge, and after the music there are also free guided tours of the Museo Barón de Benifayó.

NOTE: In the event of bad weather the concerts will take place in the Casa de la Cultura.

San Pedro del Pinatar Tourist Office The municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar has one principal tourist information office which is open throughout the year, and then other tourist information points which open during the peak summer months. Due to its location on the fringes of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean coastline, San Pedro del Pinatar has a period of intense summer tourism activity during the peak summer months, although is popular with retirees of all nationalities out of peak season.

Much of the tourism activity is directed into these peak months, although the Salinas natural park and health tourism hotels in San Pedro del Pinatar make this a popular destination throughout the year.
